“There is one word of advice and caution to be given those intending to visit Alaska for pleasure. If you are old, go by all means. But if you are young, wait. The scenery of Alaska is much grander than anything else of the kind in the world and it is not well to dull one's capacity for enjoyment by seeing the finest first.” National Geographic Society President Henry Gannett Member of the 1899 Harriman Expedition to Alaska
From this page you'll be able to follow us as we journey around Southeast Alaska and beyond... Use the links to your left to follow our voyage from purchasing Raven in 2003 through getting to know her 2004 - 2006 to our departure in the Summer of 2007 to head south to someplace warm.
We spent the spring and summer of '07 in Southeast Alaska working on the systems we've been buying (but haven't had time to install) - radar, ssb, etc.
We departed Alaska after July 1, 2007 and have been working our way down the Inside Passage to Washington State's Puget Sound. We'll see where we go from here.
We'll see... They say that the most dangerous thing on a cruising boat is a schedule and I believe that's true.
